Presenting: 'Green Slashy'.

I'm quite a bit late in the game but late ain't never. It's designed to work on Firefox, Opera and Internet Explorer, but I have not tested it under Safari or IE7, so let me know if there are any major issues in those camps.

None of my design uses Javascript. The hiding menu on the left simply makes use of valid CSS. As an avid reader (alas, one of the stealthy ones), I made the left menu hide in a bid to get to the main content faster.

You'll notice that I've designed a static menu for IE (and any browser that ignores the newer child selector commands). This is due to these older browsers (well, IE at least) ignoring the hover command for anything other than the <a> element. I've also provided this design for all browsers as an alternative, because it actually turned out better than I expected.

Anyhoo, this is my attempt at giving Slashdot a clean lick of paint, so hopefully this inspires a vaguely positive emotional response.

There are two available editions in two forms (logged-in and logged-out):

Both sets of HTML files are identical -- they just use two different style sheets.
